If you could read my mind - I'm not sure if I really want that? I don't even understand myself... Maybe it's because my mind is just as opaque as the picture? I don't know. All I know is that I like the picture in all its simplicity. A lot. It's a song by Gordon Lightfoot from a difficult phase in his life:
I never thought I could act this way.
And I've got to say that I just don't get it.
I don't know where we went wrong.
But the feeling's gone and I just can't get it back.
A tranquil pool of aquamarine becomes a canvas for reflection and distortion. Faint echoes of forms float just beneath the surface, obscured and ambiguous, like half-formed thoughts. The composition invites slowness, quiet attention, and introspection. If You Could Read My Mind holds emotional weight in its stillness, evoking what remains unspoken, submerged beneath everyday perception.
