I'm alive

I'm alive -

lately I've had the feeling that my paintings are getting closer and closer to abstract expressionism. I'm learning that it's about letting go. Giving up control has never been easy for me. It's a risk.

And the result of that? We'll see. The more I look at the painting, the more I discover. I'm alive, and that feels good. A life story? Mine? Yours? Maybe...

The complex visual field of I'm alive vibrates with electric contrasts and visual noise, like a digital forest seen through the lens of a malfunctioning device. Aqua, red, and cobalt blue fight for dominance amid outlines of organic forms and illusions. It reads like a fever dream. The image compels because it’s overwhelming and never ending: a chaotic harmony of color and energy.

In any case, I can look at this painting for hours, over and over, and keep discovering new things. And yet I made it myself!

By the way: I recently saw this painting in a virtual room, really big, 180 x 180 cm. And it was clear that this image simply needed a large format to have its full effect.
